This 40-foot (12.2m) keelboat takes only two people to sail, including use of an asymmetrical spinnaker on a carbon-fiber sprit. It is a racer/cruiser whose design favors simplicity and independence over the rig modifications that would make the boat go faster but require more crew. Although the J/120 is no longer being built, its class association has four active fleets: East Coast, Great Lakes, and two on the West Coast.
