Designed by Farr Yacht Design, the Mumm 30 is a one-design that emphasizes straightforward simplicity without sacrificing speed. (For other boats by this design team, see the Beneteau First 36.7, Farr 40, and Mega Byte.) The Mumm 30 uses a fractional rig with non-overlapping jib and a choice of conventional or asymmetric spinnakers. It accelerates quickly. The boat has a large rudder for balance and control and is self-righting, with a distinctive keel that consists of a lead bulb on a cast steel fin. U.S. fleets convene regattas on the Great Lakes and in Florida and Rhode Island. The Mumm 30 is an International Sailing Federation (ISAF) Recognized Class Association.
