A 1982 creation of Bay Area designer Tom Wylie, the Wylie Wabbit is remarkable in being a keelboat with a trapeze. For the sake of speed, it is also unusually narrow, given that it sleeps three people, with a five-and-a-half-foot beam for its 24-foot length-wide enough to just barely fit two berths. The boat sails with a main, jib, optional genoa, and spinnaker, using a simple rig with no winches or lines. The solid lead keel is fixed in position. Although self-draining, the boat is described as offering a particularly wet ride. The Wabbit is essentially a Bay Area locals' boat. Over 60 Wabbits were built, and most of them are still with their original owners.
