CPYC is located on Saugatuck Island in the town of Westport, CT. The club is at the mouth of the Saugatuck River, and the primary racing area is a mile or so offshore on Long Island Sound.
» Slideshow (9 images)Cedar Point Yacht Club, located on Saugatuck island in the town of Westport CT, is one of the nation's premier sailboat racing yachtclubs. The club has a long tradition of supporting one design and PHRF racing, and actively supports the following one design classes: Atlantic, Thistle, Vanguard 15, Laser, Lightning, and Star, and organizes more than 100 days of racing a year, including a well attended frostbite series in the winter.
Facilities include a spacious, two-story clubhouse, a private beach, two high speed hoists, a launching ramp, and beach launching. The club's facilities also include a 130 slip marina, extensive drystall area, a floating "opti condo" and plenty of parking.
CPYC is the site of several major regional and national racing championships each year, and has twice been awarded the prestigious One Design Club of the Year award from US Sailing. The club also runs a highly regarded junior racing program and hosts a high school sailing team.
