Massabesic (ma-suh-BEE-sik) Yacht Club, just outside Manchester New Hampshire, is the epitome of a home-town yacht club. MYC sits on the mostly wooded shore of Massabesic Lake and is home to Catalina 22, Lightning, Flying Scot and Windmill fleets, in addition to Portsmouth rated Open Class racing. The club hosts weekly racing that includes three regular series, a regatta, and several special races over the course of their season (May through October).
The club's mooring field can accommodate one hundred boats and its dry sail area can accommodate 20 dinghies. Two nice (gentle on gelcoat) docks are present as is a single boat launch which serves the dry sailed boats. The lake is a watershed reservoir for the city of Manchester, so swimming is not allowed.
